City is the wrong unit, and the API says so
We measured something first. The location filter is
ignored for film: pin a catalogue, vary filter.location.query
across five cities, and the affinities are identical. The location
signal does change the answer, but it drops 84% of the catalogue, so
neither gives a usable way to route a slate by city. What does move film
taste is what an audience listens to and watches. So
these groups are not places. Each is a set of artists, shows and games whose
film-affinity signatures correlate, found by clustering the graph, and distance
on this map is taste distance.
These are discovered taste communities within Qloo's graph: clusters of cultural anchors grouped by modelled film affinity, not observed groups of people. Three of the eighteen have enough members to cross-check against themselves. The rest are single readings.
